Rain, Rain, Go Away!

Posted by on June 29, 2015

Even though it was chilly and wet outside today, the warm smiles on the faces of the Micah campers made this a day not to forget! We started the morning with the First Annual Staff Swap! Each bunk dressed up one of its counselors and a guest counselor from the other side of camp as famous pairs. We saw everything from Mary and her Little Lamb to a parody of our own beloved Rabbi Lipof and a dishtowel counterpart (you had to have been there!). The winning teams were treated to hot cocoa, which certainly helped to brighten up this cloudy day.

After Rest Hour, campers rotated through a variety of exciting activities. Some campers got the chance to tie-dye, others filmed music videos with songs they wrote themselves to share their love of Micah, and others played games like Sing Down, Build It, and Double Dice.

We’re all looking forward to a dry day tomorrow and the start of our individual activity schedules!

The Summer of 2015 is Underway!

Welcome Home!

What a beautiful way to start the summer. The warm sunshine welcomed all the campers this afternoon as they got off the buses. Summer 2015 began with games on the front lawn, cheerful reunions, smiling faces, and new friends all around. Our traditional opening day pizza and chocolate chip cookies were a big hit with the campers. After dinner, the Micah community came together in the outdoor theater for introductions, songs, and merriment. The Head Counselors, Sam and Shari, have just finished visiting the bunks to tuck in all the campers. Everyone is looking forward to bunk activities tomorrow. It’s going to be another picture perfect day in Bridgton, Maine.

P.S. We will begin our picture uploads tomorrow as the photo staff is spending the evening settling their campers into their bunks.
